I shouldn't be surprised,
yet I am.
The weight of what you've done
settles on me like
a layer of dust:
Am I not good enough for you?
When I think of you now
you look like the person who dumped me for her
even though
I haven't seen him yet,
he is who I imagine.
I think of you telling me
that secret
(you know the one)
grinning and embarrassed
you look the one I know.
The one I thought you were.
I made excuses for you last time,
and people thought I was crazy.
